I’ve noticed the back legs of my cat, Tesla, walk further than the front. When he decides to sit down his front legs immediately stop but his back legs keep walking until they meet up with the front ones,bending his back like a spring.
The back legs get more exercise than the front one. This may explain their greater size.  nancymauerman.com
