CAUTION: This is Only for Those Who Love Their Husbands; a Thought On Helium Balloons

I’d like to get this car next Christmas but getting isn’t really the fun part. A friend stopped by, about a month ago, and talked about a project she was starting. John’s reaction was swift and fine, “I could help you do that…” and he flipped through different possibilities like he was a roladex spinning on steroids.

“Oh, no'” she said, “That’s OK.” but she called last night asking if John was just thinking out loud or did he mean what he’d said about helping. “I’ll ask.” I answered; and as soon as I hung up I did.

I loved his reaction. He almost lifted off the ground. His countenance beamed like he was a helium balloon filled with lightning. He couldn’t wait, it was like the other side of Christmas, you know as when a parent is prepared to give but has to wait for the big morning. John is like a young puppy, up from his nap and running through the house tongue hanging out, saying, “I wanna help. I wanna help. What can I do? What can I do? With John I celebrate Christmas every day.  nancymauerman.com
